Houdini Handkerchief Escape circa 1940: Ireland Magic

Houdini Handkerchief Escape. Chicago, Ireland’s ca. 1940. Two green handkerchiefs are tied to a yellow hank, which are placed in a “jail.” The yellow hank – representing Houdini – escapes from the jail and appears on an assistant’s back. The green hanks are still tied to each other inside the cell. 8 ¾ x 4 x 15”. With original silks and instructions. A couple of marks on the cabinet but overall very good condition. Silks have seen little use. Advertisement is from Ireland #8 1940 catalog.

There is a lot going on in the cabinet. Gimmicks panels and slides everywhere.  Not an easy thing to construct. Uncommon. Doc Mossey Collection.

We will include a later workshop plans manuscript form  from Magic Inc. for the same prop.
