The Houdini Box: Roy Johnson: made in England

Winning Bid: $110.00

What a clever well made item this is!

It is basically a small leather box, lined in velvet and silk with the Houdini logo and astral symbols on the lid. See the photographs. It is basically a whamboozelem box with a double load chamber very well hidden in the construction of the box. The release of the two load chambers is extremely deceptive.

The effect is that you introduce it as a ring box containing the original engagement rings of Harry and Bess Houdini (with a very nice HH logo on the box). They are cheap key rings as supposedly when Houdini purchased them, he was broke. As he became famous, he bought her a proper ring, but kept the old ones as sentimental value. During the course of the routine, the rings are introduced and a seance is held- the rings vanish, reappear, link etc. All under the cover of a glass and handkerchief on top of the box.

The quality of this box is excellent. It is a utility box than can be made to produce cons etc.  Functions perfectly. I am including a glass but any appropriate sized glass can be used. No longer available. With instructions  As new. The box is 3.75 inches square.

Estimate $125-$250
