Description
Cagliostra’s Key- Original from Domenico Dante
Keep in mind, post-performance this key can be handed out to the spectator, where upon it may be closely and fully inspected. There is absolutely nothing to find, no seam, no weld joints – nothing! The key is perfectly balance for the Haunted Key move forward as well as backward and is gaffed for the “twisting” effect. This will badly fool those “in the know.” Great close up effect! Great Bizarre effect. You can carry it in your pocket – ready to perform at a moments notice. Excellent craftsmanship. Made in Europe.
Product Specs: The key is 4.75 inches and the bow is 1 1/8” inches wide. It weighs approx 1.4 ounces. Comes in a protective jewelry box with the proper “resetting tool.”
The routine is amazing. The performer first causes the key to turn over in their hand during their favorite routine. (With practice you may even cause the key to turnover in the spectator’s hand!) This is where the similarity ends. At this point the artist asks the spectator to run the perfectly aligned key on the barrel and slowly the bit twist 90-degrees from the box. Immediately the key is handed out and the spectator can absolutely find nothing out of the ordinary, other than a solid twisted key.
In very limited production, Cagliostros’s Key is handmade and is the finest I have seen. The gaff is absolutely invisible and impossible to spot It is precision made. Made of steel to last way beyond your lifetime. A treasure to pass down to future generations of performers.
Once performed and handed to the spectator, it may be closely and fully inspected. There is absolutely nothing to find, no seam, no pinholes, no weld joints, nothing! The key is perfectly balanced for the Haunted Key move forward as well as backwards and is gaffed for the “twisting” effect. This will badly fool those “in the know”.
The routine is amazing. The performer first causes the skeleton key to turn over in their hand during their favorite “Haunted Key” routine. (A great one is in the book “Curtain Call” by Barrie Richardson and available at Stevens Magic.) By the way, with practice you may even cause the key to turn over in the spectators’ hand!
This is where the similarity ends. At this point the artist asks the spectator rub the perfectly aligned key on the barrel and slowly the bit twists 90 degrees from the bow. The spectator rubs his eyes in disbelief. The performer now hands the key to his helper for close inspection; he finds nothing out of the ordinary except a solid, twisted key! Carry it in your pocket ready to perform at a moments notice.
