Effect:
The Performer allows the spectator to examine a black wooden goblet and a red die. Each of the two sides of the goblet opposite one another have a 14 mm hole drilled through it. On each of the other two sides there is a large round window. the die has a 12 mm he drilled through it.
When the die is in the goblet is is always visible through the window! the performer places the die into the goblet and places the lid on top. He then pulls a silk ribbon through the die and the goblet trapping the die.
When the performer lifts the goblet, something unbelievable happens. The die slowly climbs upwards penetrating the ribbon as it rises!
The following is an exact description of what the spectator sees in the second part of the routine. the die goes into the goblet, the lid is placed on it and the spectator threads the ribbon through the die and goblet. Next he ties the end of the ribbon together.
The performer then covers everything with a handkerchief and reaches underneath. “no that is not it” he says. So saying he takes a small pair of scissors out of his picket. “No I would would the ribbon” he says and puts them back in his pocket. “We will do the same thing as before”. The die then rises and penetrates the ribbon again!
