This was purchased sometime n the 1980’s. I do not know maker but the craftsmanship is the highest quality. There are real half dollars. The “Chinese” coins are very nice. If you do not know the effect, you have two Morgan Dollars in your hands. You close your hands (or just wave over the coins) and when you open them you have two brass Chinese coins with holes in the center. The change is striking. As new. This collector bought many coins form Johnson Products so that is possible. I do not know Johnson to have made this set however. Again very high quality made by a master craftsman. I have taken close up high resolution photos.
You can also display the two halves and then pass a cigarette through both coins. Then when the coins are revealed they have changed into two Chinese coins
