The effect is a card is chosen by a spectator from a full deck. The deck is shuffled and replaced back into the box.
The spectator takes the lightening rod and shoots an visible bolt of lightening towards the case. When the case is opened the cards are found to have holes burnt through them. The cards are dealt one a t a time until the spectators card is reached. It is the first one without a hole in it and the rest of the deck is normal as well with no holes burnt. The lightening rod has found the spectators card!
