Rice and Checkers: beautiful large set with Thayer Vase

The former owner was told these were Thayer.  I know the vase is as it is hallmarked.  Although the tubes and checkers are certainly of Owen Quality, I do not believe they are Owen or Thayer.   That does not take away from the quality which is outstanding. One of the tubes even has a bayonet catch which allows you to pick up the stack of checkers and deposit them back in a very easy normal looking fashion.  These are nice! The tubes are 10.5 inches tall and the checkers are 3 3/4 inch. The paint job on the tubes is expertly done.

The Thayer rice vase that is included has been repainted. It is hallmarked Thayer as shown. The paint is totally intact on the upper and lower part of the vase but is strangely pealing on the round section of the vase. This would require re-painting to make it usable.  I could probably break this set up and come out way ahead on profit but they were together so we will keep them together.  I will send instructions from a similar set.  I am pricing this with the Thayer vase as a throw in. Someone is going to get a bargain.
