Sympathetic 13 by John Snyder Jr.: rare circa 1950

Winning Bid: $83.00

An obscure effect from John Snyder Jr. who made quality magic from Cincinnati Ohio.  His items were clever and few were made.

The effect is: Two decks of cards are used and a spectator selects one. The performer removes his deck from the case, holding them with faces toward the audience and openly removing the thirteen cards of a suit.  The remainder of the deck is not used. These thirteen cards are now arranged from ace to king in view of the audience.. The packet is placed into the houlette.

The performer now takes the deck being held by the spectator and gives it several riffle shuffles. The spectator takes the deck and runs through it himself and removes all cards the same suit of those placed in the houlette. These are well mixed and turned face down for the selection of a card. The card is shown and placed face up in the fan the fan closed and a small rubber band placed around the packet and handed to the spectator to hold. By some strange power the cards in the houlette arranged from ace to king, re-arrange themselves to correspond to those being held by the spectator!

Estimate $50-100
