This is one of the most unique and charming piece of close-up mentalism.
The performer introduces four small differently colored “ancient” Scarabs along with the slightly larger one in black & gold. While the performer’s back is turned, the spectator is asked to select any colored Scarab and place it into the black & gold Scarab. The remaining three Scarabs are then hidden from view. The performer now turns around and correctly names the color of the Scarab inside!
The effect can be immediately repeated and everything can be completely examined before, during and after the effect!
The method is very clever and it is still one of the very best methods in magic.
The black & gold Scarab measures approximately 8cms x 5.5cms with 3.2cms in height.
